Civic Work

Worked with “Children in Art” as a community service project of the Columbus, Mississippi Junior Auxiliary. Established and taught an arts program at a private school. Served as president of the Columbus Arts Council and helped to design and implement an arts program for at-risk youth who were involved with the Juvenile Court System. This program became a pilot project for the State and is now a successful, state-wide program funded by the Mississippi Arts Commission. Designed sets for local theatrical productions. Created illustrations for non-profit entities for use on collateral materials.

Served on the Board of Directors for Cedarhill Animal Sanctuary, Caledonia, Mississippi.

Talbott proudly served on the Board of Directors for The Magdalene Home in Medford, Oregon. The Magdalene Home is a non-profit organization dedicated to pregnant teens. The home provides a safe environment with emphasis on health, mothering skills, and continued education.
