Original Oil Paintings

Oil painting has been Talbott's passion since receiving private instruction as a child. She later attended Mississippi University for Women, where she earned a degree in Fine Art. Learning the extent that she could take the oil medium has honed her commissioned and custom work into lasting images which are collected throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe by the patrons she met though her years of working in the field to research wildlife subjects for her paintings, illustrations and note cards.

Churchill, Manitoba, a popular Canadian Arctic community known for its polar bear population, was a surrogate home to Talbott for eight years and twelve "high north" trips where she illustrated and painted polar subjects. She hopes to revisit the area in the near future and add new pieces to her collection.

Not only does Talbott offer original works of art, but many selections of limited edition fine art prints. Her portraiture work reflects a compassionate love of native people and wildlife, detailed paintings of her family, friends, children and grandchildren, and subjects she creates for her personal collection, laughingly referring to these new portraits as "The Last Hurrah!" Her work is varied in subject matter, most often of human and animal subjects, but she never sees anything as an obstacle, only a welcomed challenge. Her style is realism, with works rendered in oil, watercolor, and pastels, including graphite drawings. Her fine art prints are expertly created and issued in low numbered series. The chance to own or commission a Talbott original is now!
