The portrait is part of an exhibit of ten paintings titled \u2018What Shines.\u2019 The exhibit concentrates on\u00a0human and animal subjects that reflect beauty to me through their ability to shine, whether visually or inwardly.<\/p>\n

Thank you Wendy for allowing my love of painting and needle work to be combined.<\/p>\n

The second I met Wendy I knew I wanted to paint her portrait. Perhaps it was her demeanor and kindness but it was her quiet energy that attracted me. When Wendy moved from New York to Oregon, I was thrilled to meet her. I was familiar with her jewelry from articles that featured her in \u2018W\u2019 Magazine and Vogue in the late 1980\u2019s and 90\u2019s. She has created custom pieces for Cher, Elton John, Oprah, Elizabeth Taylor, Michael Jackson and countless others. Currently, she is designing a line of jewelry for Disney.<\/p>\n

Wendy was known for her \u2018Wristies,\u2019 which became the rage in the 80\u2019s and are still avidly collected. Luckily, our studios are close, which allows us time to share design ideas.<\/p>\n
